Lavera Anti-Ageing Eye Cream Review

Lavera is a brand I had not used until I bought this eye cream, at the start of my journey in to vegan skincare products. Not all of their products are vegan, as their main focus is on including natural and organic ingredients in their range while avoiding harsh chemicals. Lavera products that are vegan will be stamped with The Vegan Society’s sunflower logo, and that is the case with their Anti-Ageing Eye Cream.

I have been using this now for several months, often on its own and also sometimes in conjunction with a heavier product such as an oil. I do like this eye cream, mainly for its texture. It appears as a thick-ish white cream but disappears under the eyes within a couple of minutes. It leaves no residue behind whatsoever, so is perfect for using under makeup, particularly in the day.

I do find it moisturising enough for my needs. I would say I have normal skin under my eyes, so not particularly dry and not particularly oily. I’ve noticed no change in the skintype since using this; that is to say, no shift from normal to dry skin or from normal to oily. It does just leave it very soft and lightly hydrated. If on occasion I feel I want something heavier, I will put a light oil under it such as a rosehip oil.

In terms of the anti-ageing part, I find this is a hard question to answer: has it made any difference to the look and texture of my 37 year old undereye area?

I would say a very guarded ‘yes’ to this. I do feel that my undereye area looks better than it did a few months ago. The lines don’t seem as apparent. It certainly does not look any worse. It could be due to a number of factors: a healthier lifestyle, more water, more sleep….so I cannot say with certainty that the product has been the positive influencer here. But in terms of texture, appearance and softness I will say with certainty that it has not had any detrimental effects to my skin.

I will continue to use it without any hesitation.
